I have stayed at this place a couple of times when I have been in town on business. The last time I stayed was the night of 12/26/17. I stayed in room 135. I wasn't aware that this room had bed bugs until I had red itchy bumps break out on my arms, leg, and the back of my neck. I called to let the hotel know they had a problem. Of course they said they never had one before. I while still traveling I talked to a pharmacy and got benadryl cream for itching and Neosporin for the infection. When I got back home I went to my doctor and said that I am having an allergic reaction to the bites. I had to have a shot and be put on two medications. I was told I needed to replace my suitcase and have my car gone through. I called the hotel the next day to let them know all of this and the girl I talked to said she worked weekends and didn't know anything about this. I told her that they would be getting a bill for the doctor, suitcase, car and my medication. She said she would contact the owner immediately. If I had heard back from someone I wouldn't be posting this. A little sympathy and kindness for what I had to endure for the owner would have avoided this.
We had a lovely stay; very nice staff, clean room, comfortable bed and pillow, plus it came with a great breakfast buffet at the Shoney's restaurant next to it. For the price I highly recommend the Inn of Clanton, Exit 208 on South bound I65.
It’s a five for us as it is always our perfect stopping point in the way to Panama City Beach Florida. They allow a dog, they are conveniently located and extremely reasonable. It’s not the Hilton but it is clean and consistent
Staff was pleasant. Room rate was a little high but stay came with a free breakfast voucher for the Shoneys next door. The bed was comfortable for the night sleep. DirectTv channel was a bit limited. Room was very clean.
Very well kept, clean, friendly place. I was actually very surprised. Outside light poles have power outlets at the bases, which is very convenient for charging boat batteries. 10 minutes from the boat ramp. Would definitely recommend to any fishermen fishing Mitchell.
